When I started Brooklyn Wax, it was never just about candles. It was about atmosphere. About the kind of moment that slows your heartbeat—the kind you want to savor. For me, scent has always been deeply tied to memory, place, and ritual. And few rituals capture that essence better than pouring a perfect glass of Japanese whisky at the end of a long day.

As someone who has spent years exploring the layered complexity of Japanese whisky—its smoothness, its quiet elegance, its reverence for process—I saw a natural kinship with the ethos behind Brooklyn Wax. Both are about intentional indulgence. Both are about elevating the everyday.

When I light one of our cocktail-inspired candles, like Smoked Old Fashioned or Gin & Vetiver, I’m not just filling a room with fragrance—I’m setting a tone. That same mood carries into the act of pouring a drink. I believe glassware plays a powerful role in that experience.
